CIS “Decorate a Chicken Contest” - October 6, 2008
Sponsored by Nathan Phelps and Tommy Ogle with Puro-Clean Emergency Restoration Services

All fourth grade students at Center Intermediate School were able to participate in the “Decorate a Chicken Contest” in honor of the Poultry Festival. Students were encouraged to color, paint, or use their own creativity to decorate their chicken. Nathan Phelps with Puro-Clean sponsored the prizes for the top six places. All the winners received a Poultry Festival t-shirt to wear at the festival and a Wal-Mart Gift Card. The winners were Zane Eberez “Pine Cone Chick”, Ruth Gutierrez “Texas Chick”, Holly Hughes “The Chef Chick”, Zack Fausett “Eat More Beef Chicken”, and Kade Hudspeth “A Camo Chick.
The students would like to express a big “Thank You” to Nathan Phelps and Puro-Clean Emergency Restoration Services for donating the prizes and for supporting Center Intermediate Fourth Grade Students.

Center FFA Annual Pecan and Holiday Meats Fundraiser - October 6, 2008

Center FFA members are beginning their annual pecan and holiday meats sale today. Pecans are $8 for a 1 lb bag and the order will be in before thanksgiving. All money must be turned in at time of order.If you would like pecans or holiday hams and turkey you can contact your local FFA member or come to the front office of Center High School to place your order. Sales will end October 17th.

Center ISD Board of Trustees Election - September 9, 2008

The Center ISD Board of Trustees election will be held on November 4, 2008. As approved in the August 29th Board of Trustees meeting, the election judges will be Allison Harbison, early voting judge, and election day judges: Billie Sue Payne – 1N, Barbara Prince – 1S, Michelle Bender – 1SE, Kerri Lee Wiggins – 1SW, Annette Hebert – 1N, and Tina Brown – Precinct 2. Candiates on the ballot will be Cameron McElroy, Dan Wilkins, Delilah Koonce, Ed Konderla, Stephen Shires, Mary Lynn Tinkle (incumbent), and Sharon Hooker Nelson (incumbent).
