Just wanted to let you and your readers know what a great response I have had to my recent ad on ShelbyCounty Today. I placed the ad on the web site on Wednesday of a house for sale and by Sat. I had received about 25 calls, on Sunday afternoon I had sold the house. You may share this information with your readers if you wish, I was most pleased with the response I received. Thanks for the great ad,

We just wanted to extend our gratitude for the great work you do with Shelby County Today. My wife Benita and I are working abroad in Kuwait, and this link has been just what the doctor has ordered.
We are promptly informed about the happenings in Center on a daily basis, and thankful for the closeness it gives us to home. We have over thirty years of dedication to the U.S. Army, and have visited many places of the world. Never have we had the opportunity to feel so close to home when abroad, and for this we are truly thankful. Benita and I will continue to go forth and do great things, serving the Lord and our country. Again thanks.

"Richard you will
not believe this, within thiry minutes
of the airing I started getting calls.
I just received one from the Baptist
Church here in Joaquin and they have
one they will vote on to give us. Colleen
with L&C called and she knew of
one on Hwy 7. I got another call about
one in Tenaha! Thanks this is better
than telling a woman!!!! That's a joke
no pun intended!!!"

"I’m probably
one of the worst ones about taking
the three of you and the news you
put on SCT for granted. This is not
a Letter to the Editor - it’s
just a quiet thank you for everything
you do at SCT and your readers. I’m so tired of the major news
companies primarily broadcasting doom
and gloom or just plain negative stuff.
If it’s not bad news, it must
not be news. I don’t even watch
or read the national news at this
point. All this negativity is so depressing. Thank you for what you do and how
you do it. You give us happy news.
Students of the Week. Homecoming news.
Library information. Happy news is
comforting. Happy news gives us hope
the world is a nice, safe place in
which to live. It’s like a warm
piece of apple pie with a little bit
of vanilla ice cream. It’s good
for the mind and soul. You delicately balance the sad news
with the happy news. Sometimes there
is just sad news. You keep all the
news in perspective without taking
away the dignity of the sad news. Thank you….. I appreciate how
you do what you do."

Thank you for your continued
efforts to provide a place where citizens
can stay up to date on local news and
events; for providing a forum where
people can write their opinions on all
different types of topics, displaying
pictures of events that take place all
over the county, and far too many other
great services. You have done a great
job and I wish you continued success."
You're greatly appreciated,
--Veronica Berry - Center |

"THANK YOU!!! The
ad was a hit and already hired someone
and drove up from Houston today and
the job was done."

"I just wanted to
tell you that you have a great website.
Who ever is in charge of it is doing
a really good job. Also thanks for letting
me put a couple of free ads on there."
--Cathy Matthews |

"I’m sure
having the fuel-spill news occurring
almost at your front door certainly
made it easier for content material!!!!
Great job in getting the photos and
story on-line! I’m in Joaquin
and am heading to Center at noon. This
is EXACTLY where I would be traveling,
just like so many others who come into
town. Appreciate your news coverage.
Really some great dedication on ya’lls
part."

Hey Richard, Thank
you for your election coverage Tuesday
night. I know that it keeps you very
busy, but thank you for taking the
time to keep it up and current. I
continue to read your site often,
and many of out-of-town folks use
it to keep up. Some of my out-of-town
classmates mentioned this at our recent
25th reunion."

"I visit your website daily and
am glad that you are keeping Shelby
County up to date on all the events
and news going on around here."

"Thank you so
much for having the photos of the
Joaquin Rams each week. My great-nephew,
Brandon Cockrell #14, plays for the
Rams. Since I am unable to attend
most games, I look forward to seeing
the photos each week. The person who
sends in the pictures is really good.
Please share my gratitude with her.
I hope all is well with you and your
family. "

" I wanted to thank
you for your coverage of the accident
I was in this past Saturday on FM 139.
Your reporting was accurate, the pictures
were really good, and I'm sure the story
was read by several people of the surrounding
area. I was not aware of your web site
until the good folks at Smith Towing
in Joaquin showed it to me yesteday
afternoon. You have a very nice site
and I plan on visiting it in the future
as I spend a lot of my free time in
Shelby County, especially down around
and on Toledo Bend."
Thanks again,
--Brad Goodwin |
