Vaughn Wins 3 Buckles at Shelby County

On Saturday, February 27th, Dexter
Vaughn, a freshman at Shelbyville
High School, won three belt buckles
at the Shelby County Livestock Show.
The three buckles he won include the
Grand Champion Breeding Doe buckle,
the Reserved Grand Champion Breeding
Doe buckle, and the Senior Showmanship
(2007-2010) buckle.

FFA Wildlife Team Congratulations

We would like to congratulate the
Shelbyville FFA Wildlife team for
doing a great job in competing in
the Local Soil and Water Conservation
contest and Regional’s. The
team consists of Allen Weeks, Michael
Jernigan, Tyler Adams, Lucas Blackwell,
BJ Hewitt, and Jeffery Cagle. We would
also like to Thank Texas State Bank,
Shelby County Soil and Water Conservation
District, and Natural Resource Conservation
Service for all their help. The purpose
of the Wildlife and Recreation Management
Career Development event is to support
instructional objectives related to
management and conservation on natural
resources for wildlife habitat, knowledge
of and respect for laws related to
hunting and other outdoor recreational
activities and safety. |

Senior Band Members Will Be Honored

Shelbyville Band Boosters will honor
Senior band members Friday, November
6, 2009 during the football pep rally,
during a pregame ceremony, and after
their half-time performance. Pep rally
will begin at 2:50 pm. The pregame
ceremony should begin at 6:50 pm.
Parents and grandparents are encouraged
to attend.
