The month of January has been proclaimed as School Board Recognition Month. Shelbyville I.S.D. students benefit every day from the dedication and commitment to public education of our local trustees. These men and women serve without pay, giving of their time and expertise to ensure that young Texans have the skills needed for lifelong success. These people volunteer their time because they care; they care about their communities, they care about their schools and, most importantly, they care about the children. With this in mind, we would all like to say “Thank You” to the Shelbyville I.S.D. School Board.

Shelbyville Dragon Marching Band - November 9, 2011

The Shelbyville High School Marching Band completed a very successful 2011 marching season. The Dragon Band placed 1st at the UIL Region XXI Class A Marching Contest. The Band then went on to place 1st in the UIL Area C Class A-AA Marching Contest, which qualified them to compete in the UIL State Marching Contest which was held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on November 7. The Dragon Band placed 8th out of 17 competing bands in the State Competition. The Dragon Band is comprised of 7-12 graders. The band is under the direction of Larry Edge and Shaka Hawkins, Assistant. The drum major is Laurie Beth Jackson.
