Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) today donated a 2011 Chevy Silverado, formerly of Chesapeake’s security work fleet, to the City of Huxley Water and Gas Services.
During a reception at city hall, Chesapeake presented the keys to the vehicle that will be used in the daily operations of the city which provides water and natural gas services to Huxley and the surrounding area.
“At Chesapeake, our sense of corporate responsibility runs deeply through the communities in which we invest, work and live,” said Paul Pratt, Chesapeake’s Director – Corporate Development. “We are proud to support The City of Huxley, its employees and citizens with the donation of this vehicle. The economic benefits of the Haynesville Shale are profound and Chesapeake is dedicated to ensuring every corner of the Haynesville community is positively impacted.”
This donation will allow the city to retire an older vehicle that has accumulated more than 200,000 miles, said Director of City Operations Gerald Huddleston.
“Chesapeake’s donation will be a great asset to the City of Huxley, its citizens and the three counties the city serves,” said Huddleston. “We are thrilled at the opportunities now available to us through this donation.”
