COURT SHELBY COUNTY, TEXAS
Notice is hereby given that a Regular
meeting of the Governing Body of the
Shelby County Commissioners’
Court will be held on the 9th day
of November, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in
the Courtroom of the Shelby County
Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street,
Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate
and consider action on the following
items:
1. Approve the minutes of the October
12th, 2009 Regular Meeting of the
Shelby County Commissioners’
Court.
2. Approve Officers’ Reports.
3. Approve and pay monthly expenses
and amend budget line items accordingly.
4. Nominate representative to the
Shelby County Appraisal District.
5. Create and appoint members to
a local data advisory board as described
in Sections 60.09 and 60.10 in the
Code of Criminal Procedures.
6. Accept or reject proclamation
to declare November 2009 as Home Care
and Hospice Month.
7. Robert Davis with Flowers Davis
Law Firm to discuss pending litigation.
8. Action to approve a resolution
appointing the County Judge and County
Auditor as signatories for the 2008
Supplemental Disaster Recovery Fund
grant award related to Hurricane Ike.
9. Approve Precinct 3 to buy two
(2) new or used 18 wheeler trucks
and possibly sell or trade two (2)
older trucks.
10. Accept or reject proposal to
change CR 2053 from a county road
to a private road.
11. Accept or reject bids for Disaster
Recovery Relief.
12. Accept or reject bids for audit
firm for the 2008-2009 audit of Shelby
County.
13. Accept or reject bids for two
(2) paving machines being sold by
Precinct 2.
14. Authorize Precinct 1 to place
“No Thru Trucks” signs
on County Road 1470 and County Road
1510.
15. Approve advertising for bids
on gravel, tires, fuel and custodial
services for Shelby County.
16. Adjourn to executive session.
Executive Session
An executive session will be held
for the purpose of deliberating on
certain matters concerning the purchase,
exchange, lease or the value of real
property where deliberation in open
meeting would have detrimental effect
on the position of the public body’s
negotiations with a third person.
This closed session is authorized
by Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas
Government Code Section 551.072.
An Executive session will also be
held for the purpose of discussing
personnel, hearing complaints against
personnel, or to deliberate the appointment,
employment, evaluation, reassignment,
duties, discipline, or dismissal of
a public officer or employee. This
closed session is authorized by Texas
Open Meetings Act, Texas Government
Code Section 551.074.
A.) Discuss the allocation of funds
for litter control.
16. Reopen Public Meeting.
