Trail Ride to the Shelby County PRCA Rodeo - June 18, 2010

The weather was hot Saturday but a determined group saddled up their horses and rode from the Texas-Louisiana Border to the Shelby County PRCA Rodeo. The ride left from Sabine River Boat Ramp at 9:00am. The ride went through Haslem on Hwy-84 and continued down Hwy-7 to Center. Sheriff Newton Johnson and his department worked traffic control to keep riders and motorist safe. The lunch break was taken in the James Community. Many riders enjoyed lunch at the James Store. The group arrived at the Shelby County Exposition Center around 4:00pm. We are currently planning a benefit trail ride, bar-b-que, and auction for the Joaquin Senior Center. This event will be held in October.
