11 Year Old All Stars
Advance in the State Tournament

The Center 11 year old
all stars are one step
closer to bringing home
the state trophy.
Due to rain delays, the
Wednesday game was pushed
to Thursday. Center went
into the game with Kam
Owens as the starting
pitcher. Center got down
in the first inning 2
to 0, but rallied in the
2nd with 2 runs. Altlanta
then scored 2 more runs
and held Center until
the top of the 6th when,
with one on base and 2
outs, Dalton Horton sent
one over the fence to
tie the game. Center held
Atlanta in the bottom
of the 6th and the game
went to extra innings.
In the top of the 7th
Alec Lucas had an RBI
making the score 5 to
4 and Taylor Tomlin closed
out the inning with great
pitching, leaving Atlanta
with no runs. Center and
Atlanta will square off
again tonight at 5:30
for the chance to play
for the championship at
7:30 against Hallsville.

The Shelby County Bass
Anglers held their 5th
tournament of the 2008
season Saturday June 28
and Sunday June 29 on
Lake Sam Rayburn out of
Jackson Hill Marina. The
results are as follows:
1st place Billy Partlow
and Ricky Sims 18.24 lbs
2nd place Frank and Selvin
Cartwright 17.86 lbs
3rd place Micha Griffith
and Keithe Keele 15.09
lbs
4th place Gus and Dennis
Permenter 14.27 lbs
Big bass winners:
1st place Billy Partlow
and Ricky Sims 6.2 lbs
2nd place Frank and Selvin
Cartwright 5.86 lbs
3rd place N. Sims and
J. Sims 5.7 lbs
Thirty teams fished the
tournament. 118 fish were
weighed in for a total
weight of 283.04 lbs.

Tournament - July

The 10 year old Center
All Star Team will compete
in the State Tournament
being held in Center this
weekend. They will face
Halsville in their 1st
game on Saturday the 12th
at 8:00 p.m. This is a
talented group and we
are very proud of them!
