Joshua Thomas Waller
Joshua Thomas Waller entered military service in the U.S. Army in 2002. He joined the military out of a sense of obligation to this country. It is his belief in the American way of life and his strong belief in God that motivates him to do what he does.
Josh attended basic training at Fort Leanord Wood, Missouri, as a member of the Army Chemical Corp. After basic training he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas until he was deployed to Korea for a period of one year where he served in the Chemical Corp. After returning from Korea Josh was again stationed at Fort Hood Texas until 2006 when he was deployed to Iraq for a period of one year. After returning from Iraq in 2007, Josh was once again stationed in Fort Hood, Texas where he applied for and was accepted into the pilot program. He was then moved to Fort Rucker, Alabama where he underwent officer training and attained the rank of warrant officer. Josh then participated in pilot training and became a helicopter pilot. Currently Josh is serving in Afghanistan as an Apache attack helicopter pilot. We very much look forward to his once again returning from foreign deployment safely. Your thoughts and prayers for Josh and for all of troops are appreciated much more than you could ever know. |

2007 Graduate Shelbyville High School
Tommie completed Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in August of 2007 and AIT as a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator at Fort Huachuca, Arizona in February 2008.
He was assigned to the 4th Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, and deployed to FOB Loyalty near Bagdad, Iraq, earning the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal. Returning in December 2008, Tommie is permanently stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
In October, 2010, Tommie was deployed to FOB Shank located in the Logar province in Eastern Afghanistan.

MSgt Kirkwood is the
Non-commissioned officer in charge of
Chaplain Services for the 917th Wing at
Barksdale AFB, LA. He has been a chaplain
assistant for the last seven years. Before
becoming a chaplain assistant, he was
a member of the 917th security forces
for four years. He was a member of the
Construction Battallion with the US Navy
for nine years before joining the Air
Force Reserves. He has served a total
of twenty years in the military reserves.
MSgt Kirkwood has deployed twice since
the attack of 9/11. He was deployed for
45 days to Moron, Spain two months after
the attack. In January 2005, he was deployed
for 30 days to Guam in support of B-52
forces in that region. His major awards

Having originally enlisted right after high school, Jeremy served three years as a Paratrooper, then got out of the Army for three years. He re-enlisted and has trained at different duty stations from Ft. Campbell to two different F.O.B.s(Forward Operating Bases) in Afghanistan. He returned to Fort Campbell KY and was then transferred to Fort Carson, CO. The photo was taken as he returned from his last tour in Afghanistan.
