2011 Shelbyville High School Homecoming Court - October 13, 2011

Shelbyville's Homecoming will take place on Friday, October 14, 2011.

The Homecoming parade will begin at the school at 2:30, followed by a pep rally in the gym.

Shelbyville ISD invites all alumni and friends and family to attend.

The Homecoming ceremony will begin that evening at 7:00 p.m., and after the Queen is crowned the Shelbyville Dragons will take on the Cushing Bearcats.

Freshman duchess Corinna Cartwright is the daughter of Esther Cartwright and the late J.C. Garrett. She’s the granddaughter of Emma and the late Joel White. She is escorted by her brother Jamie Cartwright, the son of Alvina Cartwright. Corinna attends Triumph First Pentecostal Church. She also participates in basketball, track, and field events. She was born and raised in Shelbyville. She would like to give a special thanks to God and the Class of 2015.

Freshman duchess Chesnie Sullivan is the daughter of Robbie and Joy Sullivan. Chesnie is being escorted tonight by C.J. Watson, son of Tiffany and Billy Risinger. Chesnie is a member of the varsity cheerleading squad and the Shelbyville marching band. She also plays basketball and runs track and loves softball. She is also a member of the 4-H club. Chesnie would like to thank her freshman class for voting for her to be a duchess on the homecoming court. She would also like to thank her parents for supporting her through all this and everything else she has been involved in.

Sophomore duchess Josie Fuller is the daughter of Larry and Betsy Fuller. Josie is escorted by Colton Brown. Colton is the son of Malcolm and Kristie Brown. Josie has been involved in 4-H for 10 years, FFA for 2 years, basketball 2 years, softball 2 years and barrel racing for 10 years. Josie would like to thank her sophomore class for selecting her to represent them on the 2011 Homecoming Court.

Sophomore duchess Kelsey Pennington is the daughter of Bobby and Linda Leonard. She is being escorted tonight by Cole Mooney, son of Shiloh Denney and Bryan Mooney. This year, Kelsey is participating in Student Council, UIL Ready Writing for her 3rd year, Rodeo Club for her 2nd year, FFA, Cross Country, Track for her 2nd year, and Softball for her 7th year. She attends Toledo Bend Baptist church. Kelsey would like to thank her fellow classmates for choosing her as a sophomore duchess. She would also like to thank her friends and family members for all their support. Her parents, for guiding her throughout the years, her best friends for staying loyal, Garrett and Mrs. Kim for all their help they provided this Homecoming week, and the Lord for making this day as great as it is.

Junior duchess Kiera Montgomery is the daughter of Alicia and Chris Holman. Her escort tonight is Symyron Robertson, son of Regina and Marcus Cartwright. She attends Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ. Kiera has been an active varsity basketball player since freshman year. She also participates in track and field. After graduation she plans to attend college and pursue a career in Ultra-Sound Technology.

Junior duchess Bree Vaughn is the 16-year-old daughter of Gilbert and Connie Vaughn of Huxley, and the granddaughter of Bobby and Annette Oswalt of Huxley and Rev. and Mrs. Gordon Vaughn of Shelbyville. Bree is being escorted tonight by her father. Bree has been a member of the cheer squad for 3 years, the marching band for 5 years, softball 3 years and basketball for 2 years. Bree has also been in FCA for 3 years and Student Council for 1 year. She was elected class President her Freshman year, and is currently serving as Vice President her Junior year. Bree is also an active member of Lydia Missionary Baptist Church. Bree would like to thank the Class of 2013 for electing her to represent them as Junior Class Duchess and wants them to know how honored she is. But most importantly she would like to thank God for all of his many blessings.

Senior Queen Candidate Laurie Beth Jackson is the seventeen-year-old daughter of Larry and Fannie Jackson. She will be escorted by her dad. Laurie Beth currently serves as the senior class treasurer, drum major and head twirler. She serves as the president of Book Club, JCC's, and Student Council. Competing in U.I.L. academics, Laurie Beth has advanced to the State level two years in a row, both in Debate and Extempt Speaking. She is the recipient of the Golden Gavel State Award in Debate. In addition, she is a member of the San Augustine Church of Christ. Laurie Beth would like to thank her classmates for nominating her to be a part of Homecoming, her family for their love and support, and most of all God for all of His wonderful blessings.

Senior Queen Candidate Jessica Renae Tindol is escorted tonight by her brother Mitchell Tindol, and is the daughter of Ricky Tindol and Anita Smith, and the step daughter of Diane Tindol and Timothy Waller. She participates in U.I.L. and One Act Play. Upon graduation, Jessica plans on joining the Marines, with the courage and strength needed to be great. Jessica is a strong believer in Jesus Christ and proclaims he'll be right there with her no matter where life takes her.

Senior Queen Candidate Summer Williams is the daughter Gary Williams of Nacogdoches and John and Pam Doggett of Shelbyville. She is the granddaughter of Bill and the late Betty Lummus of Nacogdoches and Don and Patsy Williams of Duncanville, Texas. Tonight, Summer is being escorted by her father, Gary Williams. She is a member of Student Council and FCA. She is a four year letterman of the Lady Dragon varsity basketball and varsity softball teams, earning All District honors for the past 3 years in both sports. Summer was a member of the Varsity Cheer Squad for two years. She is an active member of Ephesus Baptist Church of Shelbyville, Texas. Summer would like to thank her Mom for putting up with her all these years, and her Dad for supporting her and all of her decisions. Summer would also like to say “thank you” to her Senior class of 2012. She is very humbled for being chosen by her fellow classmates as a Queen Candidate. “May God continue to bless your lives in the years to come. Good luck classmates!” Above all, Summer would like to thank her Father up above for always knowing just what was and is right for her.
